Might Just Be My Day

"In many ways, this is my favorite song from the album, because it captures the joy of the whole project. The idea came to me on a cross-country road trip with my dear friend Bill Danylik. We flew from Boston to Chicago and then drove in a Mustang convertible from Chicago to the Gorge in Washington state to see the Joni Jam with Joni Mitchell, Brandi Carlile, Annie Lennox, Sara McLachlan and many other amazing musicians. The lineup speaks for itself, but the show was even better in person than it was on paper.

We hit a lot of food joints – from five star restaurants to dive bars – and met so many interesting people during our journey that we decided to buy a notebook to write down their stories and a guitar to add some music to them. Hopefully, those individual stories will make it onto future albums, but I wrote this one to sum up the feel of the whole trip. It’s about the joy of turning each day into a good day."

Had a lot of laughs with a waitress out in Vegas, we danced until they shut the place down
